Description
Description
Augmentin 1000 is a combined antibiotic containing amoxicillin and clavulanic acid, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal action, resistant to beta-lactamase.
Lamoxicillin is a broad spectrum semi-synthetic antibiotic that is active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Lamoxicillin is destroyed by beta-lactamase and does not affect the microorganisms that produce the enzyme. The mechanism of its action consists in inhibiting the biosynthesis-mucopeptides of the cell wall.
Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamate structurally related to penicillins, which has the ability to inactivate a wide range of beta-lactamases. Beta-lactamases are produced by many Gram-positive game negative bacteria. The action of beta-lactamases can lead to the destruction of some antibacterial drugs even before their effects on pathogens. Clavulanic acid blocks the action of enzymes, restoring the sensitivity of the bacteria to allamoxicillin. In particular, it has a high activity for plasmid beta-lactamases, which are often associated with drug resistance, but less effective against chromosomal type 1 beta-lactamases.
The presence of clavulanic acid in the composition of Augmentin 1000 protects lamoxicillin from the destructive action of beta-lactamases and expands its spectrum of antibacterial activity with the inclusion of microorganisms usually resistant to other penicillins and cephalosporins.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to beta-lactams, for example, kpenicillinam and cephalosporins
jaundice or liver dysfunction, developed against a background of application of Augmentin 1000 or beta-lactam antibiotics
Infectious mononucleosis
Interaction with other drugs
The use of Augmentin 1000 at the same time as probenicid is not recommended.Probenicid reduces the tubular secretion of amoxicillin and, therefore, the simultaneous use of Augmentin 1000 and probenida may lead to increased blood levels of amoxicillin.
Simultaneous use of allopurinol and Augmentin can increase the risk of allergic reactions. Data on the simultaneous application of allopurinol and Augmentin are currently not available.
Augmentin affects the intestinal flora and leads to a decrease in reverse absorption, a decrease in the effectiveness of COCs.
