Cabgolin Tablets (Generic Cabergoline) is prescribed to reduce the body's level of a hormone known as prolactin. Generic Cabergoline may be needed if prolactin levels are abnormally high (hyperprolactinaemia). Cabgolin tablets are also used to prevent milk production in women after birth, if breastfeeding is to be prevented for medical reasons.
Cabgolin tablets are manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. in the strengths of 0.5mg and 0.25mg. We also have generic Dostinex (Caberlin tablets) in stock which is also used to treat the same indications.

Uses of generic Cabergoline (Sun Pharma's Cabgolin)
Cabgolin is used to treat a hormone imbalance where there is too much prolactin in the blood (also called hyperprolactinemia).

Generic dosage of Cabergoline
Below is the dosage of generic Cabergoline tablets for various indications:
Inhibition of physiological lactation:
Generic Cabergoline tablets should be administered on the first postpartum day. The recommended dose is 1 mg (two 0.5 mg tablets) in a single dose.
Treatment of hyperprolactinemic disorders:
The recommended starting dose of generic Cabergoline tablets is 0.5 mg per week, given in one or two doses (½ of a 0.5 mg tablet) (for example on Mondays and Thursdays) per week. The weekly dose should be gradually increased preferably by adding 0.5 mg per week at monthly intervals until the optimal therapeutic response is achieved.
Cabgolin contraindications
Cabgolin tablets (generic Cabergoline) are contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Cabergoline, any inactive ingredient found in tablets of or any ergot alkaloid. Tablets are contraindicated in patients with a history of pulmonary, pericardial and retroperitoneal fibrotic disorders.
